In 1878 (from isatin) and in 1880, he presented first and second work on Indigo, respectively. Eventually, Industrial mass production synthesis was brought up by Johannes Pfleger and Karl Heuman.

b) Revival of Natural Indigo:
i)At present times mostly people prefer denim colored clothes which are chemical free and biodegradable.
ii) Encourages new NGOs and Design Schools to regain their strength of hand dyeing traditions and collaborate between Indigenous Artisans and Contemporary brands.
iii) Natural Indigo has more color variation, greenish tone of fabric and fades slowly whereas Synthetic Indigo has uniform color, reddish tone when not mixed with sulfur and fades faster.
iii) But why is Natural Indigo being revived in the presence of Synthetic one? Natural Indigo is being revived against Synthetic one because of the environmental importance as Synthetic Indigo creates harmful and poisonous effects on the environment which leach into soil and waterways disrupting soil health and harm aquatic life.
According to the Future Market Report, Natural Indigo is gaining momentum due to its eco-friendly properties, biodegradability and lower environmental footprints.
